The successful candidate will work with a diverse client portfolio including individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and self-managed superannuation funds while ensuring compliance with Australian taxation and financial reporting requirements. <h3>Benefits</h3><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Remuneration Package: AUD 85,000-90,000 + Super</li><li>Supportive and collaborative work environment.</li><li>Exposure to a broad range of clients and industries with frequent trainings on technical topics.</li><li>Ongoing professional development opportunities.</li><li>Career progression within a growing tax practice.</li><li>Convenient office location close to Metro station and parking facilities.</li></ul> <h3>Task & responsibilities</h3><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li style="text-align:justify;">Preparing financial statements and tax returns for a diverse client portfolio, individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and self-managed superannuation funds.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Reviewing and lodging BAS, IAS, GST returns and other statutory documents, ensuring timely compliance.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Deliver advisory services relating to income tax, international tax, payroll tax, GST, superannuation and accounting matters.&nbsp;</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Provide tax and business advisory support relating to complex compliance obligations and financial performance.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Reviewing client financial records and maintaining accurate accounting documentation.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Assisting clients with structuring, tax planning and business growth strategies.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Mentoring and developing junior team members&nbsp;</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Assisting with budgeting, cash flow forecasting and business reporting requirements</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office, ASIC and other regulatory bodies regarding client matters</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Monitoring changes in taxation legislation and ensuring client compliance with current laws and regulations</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Maintaining strong long-term professional relationships with clients.</li></ul> <h3>Qualification & experience</h3><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li style="text-align:justify;">Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting or Commerce.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting and taxation experience.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Big4 consulting experience is preferred (for offshore, minimum 5-years in commonwealth countries)</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Sound knowledge of accounting principles and Australian income tax, GST and international tax treaties.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Experience using Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and MS Office applications.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Experience of Access HandiSoft software will be an added advantage.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Ability to manage multiple client files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Previous experience managing client relationships and reviewing work.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">CTA or CA qualification (or working towards) will be highly regarded.</li></ul>
